1) We simply switch of an influential aspect of heat loss and insulation, which is called “outside temperature”. By partly burrow the building volume as much as we can, we restrict waste of energy. 2) We turn the residential program upside down: bedrooms downstairs and living space on top. Heat can levitate by itself. This also provides chances for an interesting spacial experience. 3) By giving each house a basement and reuse outcoming soil, we benefit the floating principle instead of traditional foundation. 1+2+3) We tested these principles in a private house and it proved our expectations. Now we’re up to use it for a serial housing project.
