Cookie Statement

Every website is obliged to inform visitors about the cookies it uses. The REINVENT THE HABITAT website uses cookies. Below, we explain which cookies we use and why.

What are cookies and what do they do?

Cookies are small files that record and store in your computer the details of your activity when visiting a website. The files allow visitors to use the website and its associated plug-ins (video player, scripts) as efficiently as possible. What they do not record are personal data such as names, addresses, ages, and so on.

What cookies does REINVENT THE HABITAT use?

The REINVENT THE HABITAT website also uses cookies. The purpose of the cookies on these websites is solely to make your visit as pleasant as possible and to provide REINVENT THE HABITAT information about how the websites are used, which enables us to improve them. REINVENT THE HABITAT does not sell any advertising space, so you will not find any cookies from advertisers.

Below are many commonly used cookies. It is possible to obtain very detailed information about the cookies and third-party requests on the REINVENT THE HABITAT website. You enter the address in the window in the middle of the screen. After you have clicked on ‘Check cookies’, you will see exactly which cookies the website uses.

Our own cookies

These are the cookies that REINVENT THE HABITAT has installed for the functionality of the site.

  • Google Analytics cookies (such as __utma, __utmb, __utmc, __utmz): these record details about your visit in our statistical programme. We can then use this information to help us determine how to better adapt the website to visitors’ wishes. Google can make this information available to third parties if it is legally obliged to do so, or to the extent that third parties process the information on behalf of Google. REINVENT THE HABITAT has no influence over this. The information that is collected by Google is anonymised as much as possible. It should be emphasised that your IP address will not be shared. The information is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google undertakes to adhere to the Safe Harbor principles and is affiliated to the Safe Harbor programme of the American Department of Commerce. This means there is an appropriate level of protection as far as the processing of any personal data is concerned.

Third-party cookies

Third-party cookies originate from other companies. They are placed on a website if it uses plug-ins from third parties, such as a video player. These third-party cookies are read out again if another site is visited. The REINVENT THE HABITAT website uses cookies from the following third-parties: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin.

Third-party requests

As well as cookies, there are also third-party requests. These are not cookies, so nothing ends up on your computer. Nonetheless, you send information by means of a kind of digital fingerprint. Every computer has its own unique configuration and you automatically leave this information – about your operating system or browser, for example – when you visit a website.

Blocking cookies

To get the most out of a website, it is a good idea to have cookies enabled. However, if you prefer not to, they can be blocked very easily:

  • In the bottom left-hand corner, click on the triangle containing a C. A Cookie Control screen will appear.
  • Click on the green section. Cookies are now disabled. Cookie Control will install one cookie, which is used to record your preference. Cookies will also be disabled during subsequent visits to the website. You can enable them again if you wish.
